A few thoughts…

I haven’t posted in a while (thanks mostly to the restart of school) and I thought I would throw in some of my thoughts as of late.

DC UNITED

I live and breathe for the Black and Red! This season is bring me back to the dark ages of the Ray Hudson era. Granted United is 3 points out from 1st in the East, United has also played the most matches of every team except for Houston. The thing that hurts the most right now is the 12 draws so far this season. This is getting almost ridiculous. As often as they get blamed, I would have to put the pressure on head coach Tom Soehn and the front office for the club. The formations that are used (3-5-2) most of the time are clearly ineffective. I have seen this team play its best in a 4-4-2, but it is hardly used. The other problem is the fact that we are relying to hard on the veterans and not trying to evolve the play of the younger players, or for that matter, hardly bringing in young players. There will be a time when Jaime Moreno, Luciano Emilio, Christian Gomez and Ben Olsen will not be playing and the youth will be the key. I will try to do a post after Saturday’s match against Seattle to talk about the “State of DC United” in my eyes.

GERMANY

Congrats are out to the Women’s team for crushing England 6-2 for the Women’s Euro Championship! The men’s team looks like they are in good form after their 4-0 win over Azerbaijan in the latest round of World Cup Qualifying.

CHELSEA

Sorry I have to laugh over the transfer ban Chelsea is facing due to getting Kakuta to break his contract with Lens (France). I have never been a Chelsea fan nor will I ever be. I will be happy for the day when Michael Ballack comes to his senses and realize that Chelsea is not the place for him and transfers out.

I think this is it for now. If I come up with anything else I will eventually post again. Does anyone actually read this? Just wondering….
