United do it again

DC United comes off its 2-1 loss to San Jose to win 5-1 against San Juan Jabloteh. And what do you know…the youth played a huge factor in this with the help of Christian Gomez and Fred. Scoring for UNited was Gomez (13′,68′), Fred (30′), Khumalo (43′, 92+’). They key in this match was how well the youth wokred together for this win. United completely changed it’s formation going with a 4-5-1 with rookie Chris Pontius up front and Milos Kocic in goal in place of the injured Josh Wicks.

All I can say is this match was all DC. For the most part was in their final third of the field with great communication from everyone. The sad part is I don’t see a lineup anywhere near this for the team’s next MLS action, taking on visiting Chivas USA, who are sitting only 2 points ahead of DC (but also playing 2 less matches). This is a MUST WIN situation or else DC probably will not see the playoffs. I think if United fields a youthful team, much like last night, I think they can come away with a much better result.
