Boo!
That’s what I heard at the end of the DC United vs Chivas USA match. I made the trip up to RFK Stadium and took in the 2-0 loss in person. It is time to give up on this season and start to look at changes for next season. The first 2 changes are find a new goalkeeper and a new head coach. Josh Wicks is looking at a suspension by the US Soccer Federation from his actions during the US Open Cup final. Milos Kocic just can’t figure out what he’s doing. Tom Soehn’s time as head coach of DC United is over. What he has done with this team is ridiculous. His team that he put out against San Juan Jabloteh worked well and had a great flow. So what does Soehn do? He completely changed the lineup. Yes, he used a lot of youth in the Champions League. BUT they won 5-1 (granted it was against a team that had not won)! What happened to the line up he put out Saturday? Loss 0-2! I have tried to hold off on jumping on the “Fire Soehn” bandwagon, but being a fan of a team, you do not want to see a team that came off an MLS Cup and 3 straight Supporter’s Shields to not making the playoffs 2 seasons in a row. I think I’m going to calm my ranting down now. I don’t even want to run through the match, because I have no idea what this team was trying to accomplish Saturday. They needed to win, but they did not show the heart and will to win. They deserved to lose with the way they played. |
