Fulham sweeps Hull on 130 year Anniversary

US National team members Clint Dempsey for Fulham and Jozy Altidore for Hull City met on the pitch at Craven Cottage as Fulham picked up the 2-0 victory. This match was significant because this was Fulham’s 130th Anniversary of the club’s existance. Hull City saw the return of former Cottager Jimmy Bullard. Bullard got a “very warm” welcome back to Craven Cottage with “boos” every time he touched the ball. Fulham looked a little lost for the first 30 minutes of the match but they found their stride in time going ahead 1-0 in the 43rd minute after Damien Duff took a rocketing shot towards goal forcing the Hull keeper, Myhill, to punch the shot away, but the ball ended up finding Bobby Zamora for the head into the goal. The team’s second goal came in the 64th minute after a shot by Diomansy Kamara goes in after he breaks through the Hull defense to receive a pass from Bobby Zamora.

The end of this match started to show the Fulham that many people love. Hopefully going into their Thursday match at home against AS Roma in the Europa League, the team can use the same play style that they fell itno during the end of the Hull match. There were many opportunites that the score could have been 6 or 7 to 0 for Fulham if shots were just a little closer on frame.
